29 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) U2T for BCG Thaksin University launched the Community Innovator Hiring Program (Phase 2) as part of the “U2T for BCG” initiative, which aims to stimulate economic and social recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) TRIUP FAIR 2022 Thaksin University researchers developed a healthy drinking powder made from organic Sangyod rice extract. This product was showcased at the TRIUP FAIR 2022 and the RESEARCH BENEFICIAL FAIR from April 4-6, 2022. The powder is intended for elderly and working-age individuals and is designed to boost the local economy. Following the project’s completion, the researchers plan to submit an application to Food and Drug Association (FDA) for approval as a free trial product under the S.T.V. Trading Agency Co., Ltd. brand, with intellectual property rights and conditions for domestic and international sales. DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH 8 economic model, which promotes sustainable development through area-based development, is a key component of this project. The program hired 860 community innovators to work in Songkhla and Phatthalung provinces for three months, from July to September 2022.
