Prof. Pornchai Nakseethong from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Thaksin University serves as both a habitat and a breeding ground for aquatic life in Songkhla Lake. This year, the Community Action Institute for Integrated Education at Thaksin University spearheaded the project and received support from various organizations, including Singhanakhon Municipality, PTTEP Energy Company Development Company Limited, Songkhla Community Tourism Promotion Association, Office of Marine and Coastal Resources, Songkhla Marine Fisheries Prevention and Suppression Center, Coastal and Gulf of Thailand Resources Research Center, 5th Artillery Battalion, 5th Artillery Regiment, Hat Yai Saha Motor Company Limited, and the Head Office. The objective of this project is to raise awareness about resource conservation and to transform Fish Habitat No. 9 into an educational center and a tourist attraction. This endeavor aims to showcase the unique community lifestyle along the lakeside in Songkhla Province. The event also included seminar sessions titled “Learning from Marine Resource Conservation,” featuring participation from local organizations, community groups, the private sector, and representatives of our network partners. These discussions were facilitated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Phonchai Nakseethong. In the evening, a candle lighting ceremony was held in remembrance of His Majesty King Rama IX.
