7 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT Thaksin University is a higher educational institution in the south of Thailand. It was established after the foundation of the College of Education under the Ministry of Education. At present, Thaksin University has been developed to be an autonomous university for quality and effective educational management based on the Thaksin University Act 2008 under the philosophy “Intelligence and Ethics Guide Development.” Thaksin University specifies the vision of “aiming to be the University of Social Innovation at the national advanced level by the year 2027 and position the university in the group of technology and innovation universities” to create the future dealing with learning management, knowledge, research, technology, innovation, academic service creation, administrative excellence, integration of implementation, and drive from social, science and technology, health science, and networking strengths, leading the university to be the University of Glocalization. To drive the university following the vision, the concepts of Sufficient Economy Philosophy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been applied as an implementation framework leading to the advanced university of social innovation to give values to society in four aspects: teaching, research, outreach, and stewardship.
