10 Thaksin University MESSAGE FROM THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR RESEARCH AND INNOVATION As a leading academic institution, Thaksin University is dedicated to not only advancing knowledge but also making a meaningful contribution to the global pursuit of sustainable development. In alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we recognize our responsibility to foster an environment where education, research, and innovation are harnessed to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Our commitment to the SDGs is woven into the fabric of our university’s mission, guiding the way we approach education, research, community service, and innovation. The SDGs provide a vital framework for us to work towards a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future, and we are proud to be part of this global effort. Thaksin University (TSU) has submitted SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 7: Affordable and Clean energy, SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals since 2022. These goals are prioritized as they align with Phattalung Province’s agricultural economy, driven by Research and Innovation for Comprehensive and Systematic Poverty Alleviation Project. There were poverty alleviation models that are appropriate for the potential of the targeted poor people and be consistent with the context.
