12 Thaksin University ABOUT THAKSIN UNIVERSITY Thaksin University (TSU) is a juristic entity as a department in the Ministry of University Affairs in accordance with the Thaksin University Act of 1996. Thaksin University has been developed as an autonomous university with independent managerial administration, allowing the practical handling of higher education while maintaining quality and efficiency under the aspiration of The University of Glocalization, reaching international standards, and serving local needs using social innovation produced under academic and research projects, including academic services. VISION “Aiming to be the leading university of social innovation by the year 2027” “Social innovation” refers to the application of new concepts and appropriate technology in developing life quality, the economy, the creative economy, society, the environment, and entrepreneurship. “Leading university” refers to evaluation scores based on criteria of the university in Group 2, technology and innovation development, at least level 4.
