17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ZERO HUNGER Food waste management operated by the food center to use as food for community pigs collected in the university area. The food waste treatment is partly composted and dumped and produces biogas and animal husbandry. TSU, spanning both the Phatthalung and Songkhla campuses, operates a total of four cafeterias, serving students, staff, and the public. Efforts are undertaken to manage this food waste, which primarily comprises excess food, discarded ingredients from cooking, unsold items, low-quality food, and remnants from culinary training. Thaksin University organizes activities and projects to prevent or alleviate hunger among students; for example, “Energy Boost for Final Exams” Project held from March 20-30, 2023, and October 16-26, 2023, at Thaksin University Dormitory, Songkhla Campus, Thaksin University. to provide welfare and morale support to students residing in the university’s dormitories at both the Songkhla and Phatthalung campuses during the final exam period. The service was provided once each semester. Student hunger interventions Thaksin University manages hygienic and affordable food for everyone at the university. There five main activities related to providing healthy and affordable food choices, which are food quality and cleanliness control, affordable food options for students and staff, healthy menu options, promoting sustainable consumption, and provision of clean and safe drinking water.
