51 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Collaboration between Thaksin University and Local Enterprises and Institutions on Fish Farming Thaksin University is only one university in Phatthalung Province. It is an advantage for us to completely assist the community to develop all aspects that the people have been facing with. However, knowledge and skills are still significant; the researcher lecturers in the university have still been playing a crucial role in researching and studying about the issues in the area. Moreover, as a higher education institution, it cannot be forgotten that we are the ones who educate the students. All activities generated should add more roles of students in it. LIFE BELOW WATER Black Pomfret (Ompok bima culatus) Farming Thaksin University promotes black pomfret farming and has developed methods for black pomfret cultivation that can help reduce reliance on wild fish capture, thus preventing the decline of fish populations and maintaining aquatic ecosystem balance. Black pomfret farming has the potential to support conservation and sustainable use of water resources. Thaksin University has disseminated information on black pomfret farming to the community. For example, the Faculty of Science and Digital Innovation organized an exhibition showcasing research results to the community at the ‘50 th Anniversary of Laem Tond Subdistrict’ event, hosted by the Laem Tond Subdistrict Municipality, Khuan Khanun District, Phatthalung Province, on April 4, 2023. The event featured an exhibition of research for the community, a seminar on the direction of black pomfret farming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to provide guidelines for advancing black pomfret farming development, maximizing benefits for farmers and entrepreneurs.
