63 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Thaksin University and Phatthalung Province join forces with network partners to combat poverty On June 26, 2023, executives and researchers from Thaksin University, along with the research team from the project “Research and Innovation for Comprehensive and Targeted Poverty Alleviation inPhatthalung Province,” participated in the multilateral seminar “Overcoming Poverty: Through the Power of Knowledge and Partnerships. The event included a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding to drive strategic research areas aimed at eradicating poverty and elevating social status, involving Phatthalung Province, led by the Governor of Phatthalung, and Thaksin University. This partnership fosters the exchange of information, development of systems and structures to address poverty through active participation from all sectors, supporting research and innovation projects focused on poverty alleviation and social improvement within strategic research areas. It also promotes collaboration between relevant agencies, including government, academia, the private sector, and civil society, in addressing issues and enhancing the quality of life for targeted impoverished individuals. The initiative aims to improve essential living conditions, encourage learning, skill development, and explore ways to create or increase income, enabling targeted individuals to achieve stable self-sufficiency for themselves and their families.
